Demonstration Project High Performance Database Research Center

The following applications perform CGI based queries to databases containing Ozone Layer Thickness (Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer, TOMS) data, and Thematic Mapper (TM) data from the Landsat series of satellites. Users can enter default values or their own values and design any query to retrieve customized information.

  • Ozone Layer Thickness Maps

  • Landsat Images

The following are client/server Java based applications that perform queries to databases that contain Ocean Temperature data, Ozone Layer Thickness (TOMS) data, Simulated Ocean Color data by the Sea-view Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS), and atmospheric reflectivity data. To run these applications a Java enabled browser like Netscape is needed.

  • Ocean Color Data by the SeaWiFS Sensor

  • Ocean Temperature and Ozone Layer Thickness Data

The following application performs CGI-based queries to a database containing material science data. The data includes the results of intricate mathematical calculations which represent experiments with Thin Films on Glass using different physical parameters.

  • Material Science Experiments

The following is a CGI-based application that makes queries to a database containing Ocean Temperature data, TOMS data, and simulated Ocean Color data by the SeaWiFS sensor data. The output is presented to the users in a 3D format via a VRML interface. A VRML viewer like WebSpace needs to be installed on the client computer and must be named as a helper on the browser. If you want to download the viewer now, click Right Arrow ImageWebSpace:
