This page was designed to provide an interface between the users and a Spatial
database. Through this page users can retrieve all datatypes (Ocean Temperature,
Ozone, Simulated SeaWiFS data) currently storaged in the database, as well as,
their satellites, instruments, observational program (frequency, dates) and
bitmap image files.
These are basic steps that you should follow to successfully run this
interactive Java based system that allows you to manipulate and display
Ocean Temperature, Ozone, and Simulated SeaWiFS Data:
- On the applet window, click on the Open Icon that is on the top bar menu. A schema of the database will be displayed on the window.
- Double click on the Category DataType. A new window will appear
with some text boxes and buttons. Then you have two choices: enter data on the
text boxes and click on Query or just click on Query to display the data. Once,
data is displayed, you can click on any of the buttons ( Next, Previous) to browse the information on the database.
- Having selected a datatype, double click on the relation
Takeby on the applet schema window. Another window will appear with a list
of all available Satellites, Select one.
- Next, double click on the relation uses. A window will appear with
a list of all available instruments, Select one.
- Then, double click on the relation progused . A window will appear
with some text boxes and buttons. Then you have two choices: enter data on the
text boxes and click on Query or just click on Query to display all observational programs. Once
data is displayed, you can use the buttons ( Next,
Previous) to browse the information on the database.
- Once you select an Observational Program, click on the relation hasdata
, and a window will be opened with the bitmap file of the data that you
selected. This window has a top bar menu from which users can select several
actions to be performed on the data file.
